Over at rajah.com, there’s a post up talking about how Vince Russo thinks Vince McMahon has lost the ability to create stars.

In it he said Vince no longer makes guys like Steve Austin, The Rock, Mick Foley, Chris Jericho, Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and Bret Hart. I might’ve added in Jericho to that list. He then said that on today’s list, he’d only put Kurt Angle and John Cena. And *maybe* Daniel Bryan, though Daniel’s rise to stardom had nothing to do with creative or Vince McMahon. Daniel just needed the platform to perform.

And I’d agree with Vince Russo, to an extent. I remember a while back reading some crazy list that went back ten to fifteen years, and it said the main event of every Wrestlemania or every PPV WWE did, I actually think it was. You can go back SO long, with a guarantee that of Triple H, Steve Austin, The Rock, Shawn Michaels, and the Undertaker, at least one of them was in every PPV main event. Which hints at their star power.

But in my opinion, stars? I think Brock Lesnar should be considered a star. And pretty soon I think Bray Wyatt will be a star.

But gosh, look at all the performers on the roster who are either underutilized, or portrayed wrong. Randy Orton and Sheamus are the two guys who I’m sick of most. They always look the same (aside from Sheamus’s new facial hair and mohawk), and they always use the same moves. ‘RKO OUTTA NOWHERE! RKO OUTTA NOWHERE!’ I feel they’re both better as villains, but Sheamus’s current villain run seems just, overdone. And Randy as a face? He has NO charisma. His best little run was from a few years ago when he acted insane. But now that everybody’s acting insane, it’s just kinda lame.

The Ascension debut and make fun of Demolition and the Legion of Doom. That was just stale and not in good taste. RIP Hawk.

The divas division? I’ll list a few divas stars: Trish Stratus and Lita. We all know they CAN reach that level. But not in today’s WWE. WWE wants to be a PG company, but they keep being racist and sexist. Go figure.

Dolph Ziggler is close to star level, but I don’t think they’ll ever pull the trigger on him because of his small size. Sure he was a World Champion (the big gold belt), but could he ever be a WWE World Champion? I doubt it.

Most of the faces are just stale in my opinion. Randy Orton, the Usos, Ryback, Erick Rowan as a face.

I’m actually glad they put Rowan and Harper back together. I thought they could be tag champs, and they’d just walk in, dragging their belts in one hand, get into the ring and beat people up. Hell, drop the belts outside of the ring onto the floor. It could be awesome.

I actually like Bo Dallas on the mike. Dean Ambrose is decent, and I like the angle they’re pulling with Naomi and Tamina. Just barely.
